TRIO SSS students receive personalized academic support from TRIO staff who are committed to helping you navigate college successfully. Students can receive guidance with academic planning, course success strategies, goal setting, campus resources, and preparing for each term with confidence.
Students looking for additional academic support may have access to tutoring and peer mentorship opportunities. Peer mentors can help students adjust to college life, build confidence, connect with campus resources, and learn strategies for academic and personal success from a student perspective.
TRIO SSS offers workshops and success sessions designed to help students strengthen their college skills and prepare for long-term success. Topics may include study strategies, time management, financial literacy, career preparation, transfer and graduate school planning, wellness, leadership, and navigating college expectations.
TRIO SSS creates opportunities for students to build community, develop a sense of belonging, and engage in meaningful cultural and social experiences. These events help students connect with peers, celebrate diverse backgrounds and experiences, and become more involved in the EOU campus community.
The TRIO SSS Summer Bridge Program gives incoming first-year and transfer students the opportunity to come to campus before fall term begins, meet other new students, connect with TRIO staff and peer mentors, explore campus, and become familiar with EOU and the La Grande community.
TRIO SSS students may have the opportunity to participate in a first year college success course designed to support their transition to EOU. This course helps students build important skills for academic success, campus engagement, and personal growth.
TRIO SSS may provide access to technology support and equipment loans, such as laptops, calculators, or other academic tools, based on availability. These resources are intended to help students stay connected, complete coursework, and succeed in their classes.
